1. Why does my district need DSRS for our Science Kit Program?
- Because teacher time is better spent teaching science rather then prepping for science class.
- Saves money when all costs considered: labor and fringe benefits, storage and transportation, component search and purchase of consumables and durable replacements, inventory: what remains/what is needed, etc.
- Helps to ensure your program’s success: many programs lapse because of materials management challenges, kits go unused, are pilfered, and are left in storage; great teaching tools are wasted.
2. We do our own kit refurb now; why should I go with your DSRS program?
- Storage costs between uses; square foot rental of storage can increase year after year.
- Costs for labor and fringe for kit cleaning, inspection, replenishment, tracking, scheduling, consumable purchases, etc. will rise each year.
- Lock in science kit materials management costs for 3 or more years; avoid yearly price increases.
- Living Materials are included and scheduled for delivery with DSRS but not w/ self refurb.
- All copyright updates are included in DSRS and not w/ self refurb.
- All kits in DSRS are Teacher-Ready: prepped w/ counting, stripped, cut, measured, weighed, etc.
- All kit pick up and delivery costs included.
- All kit rotations are tracked and controlled to schedule for on time delivery / pick up at the right school at the right time.
- Teachers receive multiple email alerts notifying them of delivery and pick up of all kits.
- Includes all Measurement Tools which are a separate purchase outside of DSRS.
- DSRS provides refurbishing for all FOSS K-6 Modules, CA FOSS Modules and 38 DSM kits.
- Most teacher-provided items are already included.
3. Do you have DSRS in place with any other districts?
- Yes, as of April ’09 DSRS is in place with 17 districts supporting 175 schools/ 105,000 students.

- Yearly updates of FOSS Notebooks, DSM and FOSS Teacher Guides, Delta Science Readers, any kit modifications or enhancements, etc.
- Yearly updates also include Teacher Preparation items like improvements from VHS to DVDs.
