How FOSS California Works

Meets California Standards

FOSS California is a modular science curriculum comprised of 18 titles for kindergarten through 5th grade. Each grade includes a life, earth, and physical science module. Each FOSS module includes 3–6 investigations designed to meet the California science content standards. The program provides students access to content in three main ways:

  1. Active Investigation
  2. Reading
  3. Assessment

Fully Integrated

These components are seamlessly integrated to maximize every student’s opportunity to learn. The active investigations, readings, and assessments in FOSS are cohesive and build on each other to lead students to a comprehensive understanding of the science concepts.
