Sink or Float?

In the Delta Science Reader Sink or Float, students explore why different objects sink or float. They read out about the concept of buoyancy. They find out about matter and the tiny atoms that make up everything on Earth. They learn about the physical properties of solids, liquids, and gases and discover which properties allow different solids, liquids, and gases to float. Finally, students learn how boat builders use this information to build boats of different sizes and shapes from different types of materials.
