Measuring, Second Edition

Students begin by expressing measurements in units of length, width, and distance. They make metric rulers and gain experience working with centimeters and millimeters. Add depth (or height) to the equation, and students discover how to calculate area in square units and volume in cubic units. They work with geoboards and centimeter cubes. They also construct thermometers to measure the rise and fall of temperature and become familiar with scales measured in degrees. (13 Activities)
